I come home through the garage and laundry room . . .

Then I have to get something to eat . . . and now I feel like I have to cook because I have a big kitchen . . . .

Then we enter the hallway where I can choose to go to the porch, upstairs, basement, living room or my bedroom . . .

Or, if I drank a lot of water on the way home from work . . .

The living room is still a work in progress with decorating (ok, well the whole house is . . .) . . .

Of course, it's usually much later and dark by the time I get home, so this is my favorite spot . . .

And I've suddenly realized just how many clothes I have when I filled up the big walk-in closet meant for two . . .
Although I love having the bathroom 3 ft from my bed, I had a fun time with a freezing shower this week after the sprinkler installers turned off the hot water line and I didn't realize it until 6 AM . . .
On the weekends or if I get home when it's actually light out, I spend time upstairs, and I'm creating a family history space on the stairs' walls . . .

Eventually, the loft space will be a library/reading space, but right now it's the landing space for movies, books and my first "furniture" when I graduated . . .

Right off the hallway is another bathroom (do I rotate using them just to break em in?) which gets most of its use when the family comes to visit (although I need blinds on the windows . . Jakob doesn't seem to care) . . .

Another place I actually use is the office/exercise room (although I joined a gym, so the equipment is for my light days when I don't want to go to the gym) . I recently got a keyboard to spend some more time re-learning the piano and to do music production . . .

Finally we have the unfinished basement. I had no other place to put it at the moment and didn't want to buy anything for the stairs going down, so it currently has a very Venezuelan theme . . .

The plan down here is to build an office straight ahead and then wall off some food storage and other storage to hide the appliance, which will create a large main rec room. The exercise and theatre system would move down here, but that's at a TBD date . . .

You may have noticed we're missing pictures of the outside . . .that's because the landscaping company is currently putting in the patio, sprinklers and landscaping. So there'll be more to come. But we're having lots of fun . . . had a BBQ last weekend and I think my neighbors got scared seeing 15 young singles sitting on my porch, steps and sidewalk. But I've got some fellow Ford employees as neighbors and they're all pretty young, so it's a great place (although the discovery that it only takes 5 minutes to walk to Coldstone from my house is a bad thing).
It's funny how we always think about wanting to have a home and the picture of what our life should be . . . but it's about what we feel when we're there. I guess that's why I have photos up everywhere and am planning on having people over all the time (even though it cost a little to always host), because it's about the people in my life and seeing the hand of the Lord in their lives . . . maybe being able to be His hands at times. It's amazing what He does and it's a little scary to think about the paths He may take us down and the unknown. But then I imagine trying to face life without Him . . . without knowing that there is someone who is perfect, all-knowing and all-powerful that knows me and who I need to be.
Anyway, hope you all are doing well - know that all of you make a difference in my life.
Love ya
