Ever since they were born, I have sung the same song to my kids every day: "I Am a Child of God".
If there is anything that I want my kids to know about who they are, it is found in these words:
I am a child of God and he has sent me here
Has given me an earthly home
With parents kind and dear
Lead me guide me walk beside me
Help me find the way
Teach me all that I must do to live with Him someday
I love the little moments when we have a chance to see and remember that we are truly children of a God that is real. To show my children that He is not just a character in a book, but a father who knows them personally and will help them no matter what they need.
That is my greatest wish: that they know our Father loves them and sees them even in the darkness of the night when they feel alone and will provide the strength they need.
